The Facilities Department of Louisville Seminary has recommended that students and families remain indoors today because of the number of tree limbs that are falling on the campus due to the heavy ice.
Facilities will commence clearing the roads and sidewalks once the snow has ended.
Most of St. Matthews, which is comprised of the neighborhoods that surround Louisville Seminary and includes the president's home, is without electrical power. At this time, campus facilities do have electricity.
The Seminary's administration will continue to monitor the situation, relying on the city's reports and decisions regarding the Jefferson County Public Schools, in order to determine when offices will reopen and classes will resume.
