LPTS begins search for Dean of Students

Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary is called by God through the church to educate men and women to participate in the redemptive ministry of Jesus Christ in the world (LPTS Mission Statement)

Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary is searching for a Dean of Students to join other Student Support Service personnel and the faculty in the formation of students for ministry. We are looking for a person with demonstrated pastoral skills and commitment to offer pastoral care for our students and their families.

A successful candidate must be an ordained minister with pastoral ministry experience and must hold a graduate theological degree from an accredited seminary, preferably the Master of Divinity. He or she should be a person of mature faith and spiritual practice who is able to facilitate programs to enhance the spiritual growth of our students and the practice of spiritual disciplines. The Dean of Students must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and with students and have highly developed relational skills. He or she should have demonstrated administrative abilities and be able to manage the Dean of Students office, including planning and managing a budget and supervising staff.

Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary is a seminary of the Presbyterian Church (USA), with a diverse student body representing the ecumenical church. The Dean of Students must have significant knowledge of the polity and process for ministry preparation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and other denominations from which our students come, including the United Methodist Church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, and the United Church of Christ, among others. He or she must be committed to the academic preparation of students for ministry and their vocational formation and enjoy working in an educational setting.
