The Faculty Council's primary responsibilities include the review of students, the initiation of changes in the MDiv and the MA curricula, responsibility for the DMin program, and decisions regarding the hiring and promotion of faculty.
The Vice President for Finance, the Director of the E. M. White Library, the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Registrar, the Dean of Students, the Director of Admissions, the Executive Director of the Louisville Institute, the Associate Director of the Louisville Institute, the Coordinator of Academic Support Services, the Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program, Director of Field Education, sit with the faculty as a deliberative body, and they have voice and vote, except in matters relating to the hiring and promotion of faculty.
The hiring and promotion of faculty members are decided by those faculty who hold tenure. The President presides.
