Alums > Alum Giving

Louisville Seminary is honored by the long-standing and deeply profound support of its alums. Year in and year out, LPTS alums support the Seminary Fund at levels that double the industry standards.

Alum gifts and participation are two leading indicators for a healthy Annual Fund at seminaries, colleges, and universities. Perennially, 30-40% of LPTS alums contribute to the Seminary Fund and special campaigns of the Seminary. This rate is unusually high when compared to Presbyterian and other seminaries in the U.S. that average a participation rate of 15-20%. Projects such as the Senior Challenge have also produced impressive giving and participation results during recent years.

Alum participation is vital to the Seminary's ability to approach private and family foundations for support. Many foundations evaluate participation rates in order to determine whether support for an institution or program is warranted, and the energy such giving generates also influences Trustee and employee support.
