Alum Giving > Senior Challenge

Class of 2007

For the past decade, Louisville Seminary Trustee Laurance R. Hoagland, Jr. of Woodside, Calif., has issued a challenge to the senior class:

"Whatever you will pledge in faith before you graduate and move out into ministry to the Seminary Fund for the next fiscal year—a true leap of faith, I will double-match."

We call this the Senior Challenge.

The first year, ten members of the Class of 1999 pledged $680. Since that time, 169 graduating seniors have contributed over $31,000 in support of those who follow in their footsteps.

Since its inception, the Senior Challenge of the Seminary Fund has raised more than $109,000 to support general operating expenses, student scholarships, and financial aid.  We are grateful for Trustee Hoagland’s vision of stewardship and for new alums as they seek to be faithful to and supportive of the seminary that helped prepare them for ministry in the Church and world.
