About Us > Message from the President

Welcome to Lousiville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. It is my hope that in the rich, informative pages of our website, you will encounter a sense of our school's vocational identity and the distinctive academic and theological attributes that describe the learning community of Louisville Seminary.

Louisville Seminary has an exciting new vision, Covenant for the Future, which is dedicated to discovering, educating, and sending into the world a new generation of leaders liberated from seminary debt and ready to serve God with imagination and creativity wherever God may call them.

In addition to many aspects of the Seminary’s vision, I hope you share my enthusiasm for the core component of our strategic plan, our Covenant Scholarship Plan, which expands the Scholarships for Excellence program; our Black Church Studies program; and our Doors to Dialogue (D2D) initiative; as well as our Marriage and Family Therapy Program, one of only four seminary-based accredited programs in the nation; our Women’s Center; and our joy in teaching students how to prepare to worship and serve as adventurous leaders in a variety of new ministries in a global context.

I invite all students, faculty, employees, alums, trustees, supporters, family, and friends of Louisville Seminary to catch this vision and join me on a collective journey as we participate together in the redemptive ministry of Jesus Christ in the world.

I hope you will share with me your hopes and dreams for the future of the church and your ideas regarding the role of Louisville Seminary in preparing women and men for leadership in the church and in the world. You can share your thoughts with me by email at PresidentListening@lpts.edu. And, if you are traveling near Louisville, Ky., I invite you to visit our campus and experience for yourself our commitment to hospitality, which is making our Seminary known nationwide for its “welcome.”

Journey with us.
