Sandra Moon is Louisville Seminary's new Alum and Church Relations Director

Nov 17, 2015

Sandra MoonSandra Moon has been named Director of Alum and Church Relations at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Moon (pictured) is a Louisville Seminary alum who received her dual Master of Divinity/Juris Doctor degree (in partnership with the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law) in May 2011. She has served as Director of the Women’s Center at LPTS since August 2015 and will begin work as Alum and Church Relations Director on December 1, 2015.

In her new role, Moon will identify, establish and maintain alum and congregational relationships for the benefit of Louisville Seminary’s annual fund.

“Sandra has a strong passion for the life and ministry of Louisville Seminary, and she is well-known and well-respected throughout our alum community,” said Sally Pendleton, Louisville Seminary’s Senior Director of Development. “These are among the many outstanding qualifications that make Sandra the right choice to fill this critical role in our Office of Institutional Advancement.”

In addition to her work at the Women’s Center, Moon is currently an Associate Attorney at Eddins-Domine Law Group in Louisville, Kentucky, where she focuses her practice in family law, estate planning, real estate, probate and business transactions. Moon’s interest in the fundraising efforts at Louisville Seminary is driven by her interest in how the seminary’s Covenant for the Future strategic plan will prepare future leaders of the church.

“I feel incredibly blessed for this opportunity to serve Louisville Seminary,” said Moon, a recipient of the seminary’s Melanie Lane Preaching Award. “I loved my experience as a student here. I received a great education from faculty who are passionate about their fields of study. I grew and evolved exponentially in my personal faith, and I made lasting friendships that made the journey even more worthwhile. Now I have a fantastic opportunity to connect with alums and hear what they have been doing since their time at Louisville Seminary. I also look forward to building relationships with congregations, hearing their vision for the greater church, and exploring how we can work together towards that vision.”

In addition to her master’s degree and law degree, Moon earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies and political science from Vanderbilt University, where she graduated magna cum laude. After college, Moon served as a Presbyterian Church (USA) Young Adult Volunteer in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is a candidate for ordination in the Presbyterian Church (USA) under the care of the Maumee Valley Presbytery (Northwest Ohio).
