Join Louisville Seminary for #GivingTuesday December 2

Oct 21, 2014
#GT Red URLOn December 2, 2014, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary will participate in #GivingTuesday to encourage support for the seminary’s Annual Fund. In the same way that retail stores take part in Black Friday and online shoppers participate in Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday allows people to leverage social media and to participate in a national movement dedicated to giving.

“Louisville Seminary is excited about participating on this special day set aside for philanthropy, where many people make an impact on nonprofits world-wide,” said Judy Johnston, director of Louisville Seminary’s Annual Fund and Alum Relations.

Johnston added that Louisville Seminary’s Alum Board of Directors and participants in the seminary’s Phonathon will use #GivingTuesday as a push for encouraging donations before the annual tax year ends.

We are interested in seeing what impact #GivingTuesday will have on our annual fund participation,” said Louisville Seminary Alum Board President Terry Epling (MDiv ’95). “This is a great way for our alum board members to share the positive things happening at Louisville Seminary.”

Johnston emphasized that it takes an engaged and pro-active audience to make #GivingTuesday work. This is where Louisville Seminary supporters can help. Following are several resources for Louisville Seminary #GivingTuesday ambassadors to share between now and December 2.
