Letson led full life of ministry and service
Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary alumna Ann Forrest Anderson Letson died Sunday, August 11, 2013. She was 72.
In addition to serving as a Presbyterian minister in various capacities throughout her life, Letson recently retired as manager of clinical pastoral education for Norton Healthcare in Louisville. Throughout her ministry, she held positions in Spartanburg, S.C.; Winston-Salem, N.C; and Louisville. Letson served as a CPE supervisor and was active on several regional and national committees with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.
A Louisville native, Letson attended Atherton High School and Spalding College in addition to Louisville Seminary. Before her ordination, she served as staff associate at Highland Presbyterian Church for five years where she worked in Christian education and led youth on mission trips to Arizona. She and her husband returned to the area 10 years ago and made their home in Corydon where Letson served as parish associate at Corydon Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ken; her daughters, Stephanie Letson and Carolyn Letson Boord (Bob); her grandchildren, Isabella and Sophia Letson-Ettin and Samuel and Jackson Boord; sister, Carolyn Lowe; and niece and nephew, Madison Lane and Andy Lowe. Letson was predeceased by her parents, Louis A. (Bill) and Mary Alice Anderson. Ann enjoyed travel, time with grandchildren, family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Highland Presbyterian Church, 1011 Cherokee Road in Louisville on Saturday, August 17, at 11 a.m. A reception and visitation with the family will follow in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, the American Cancer Society or the memorial of your choice.
