Training participants to earn Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF)
In partnership with Lake Institute on Faith and Giving, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary will offer a four-day ECRF course for clergy, judicatory executives and development leaders of faith-based organizations January 27-30, 2014. The course will be held on the Seminary’s campus.
Recognizing the need for a comprehensive training program for pastoral leadership to meet the unique fundraising and resource development needs of congregations and parishes, the Institute and Louisville Seminary see the course as an opportunity for attendees to learn core fundraising principles in a supportive environment, and to explore essential rituals and practices that foster generosity.
The program will be led by Dr. William Enright, Karen Lake Buttrey director of Lake Institute on Faith and Giving; Aimee Laramore, associate director of Lake Institute on Faith and Giving and Dr. Susan R. Garrett, dean of Louisville Seminary.
“Faith-based organizations, especially congregations, are facing significant fiscal challenges,” said Enright. “Lake Institute developed the ECRF to provide clergy leaders and development officers with the fundraising tools, organizational principles and theological tenets pivotal to nurturing generosity. This is not a how-to seminar. It is a practical experience to help leaders nurture generous givers with joy and integrity, while creating a rich community of conversation partners in the field of faith and fundraising.”
“It is a privilege to partner with Lake Institute, an organization that has been charting the landscape of religious fundraising and training leaders to work in that arena for over a decade,” said Garrett. “I am confident that our Seminary’s collaborative work with the Institute to offer the certificate program will greatly benefit participants and the communities they serve.”
