The
heart of the Louisville Seminary curriculum is its excellent
faculty and the creative program opportunities. Examples of
programs that may be endowed for the future include the following.
-
A student ministry practicum fund may be endowed
with a gift of $75,000, which will provide a stipend for
a supervised field placement for a student for one academic
year. These placements may be in the fields of pulpit supply,
youth ministry, family ministry, pastoral counseling or
a variety of other needs of a congregation.
- A
gift of $25,000 will establish a library book and periodical
endowment, which will provide resources to purchase
books, periodicals and other learning tools to keep the
library collection current and comprehensive. Approximately
4,000 items are added annually at a cost of approximately
$200,000. An endowment of this size would provide about
25 items for the collection.
- An
endowment may be established for ongoing technology upgrades.
For instance, an endowment of $50,000 will provide two new
desktop computers or a laptop computer for Louisville Seminary's
Computer Lab, used by students for research for biblical
exegesis and for writing papers required as classroom assignments.
