Calvin at 500
- In celebration of the 500th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin, July 10, 1509, the Ernest Miller White Library has put together a special display. It Showcases several early editions of Calvin's works paired with a group of contemporary books that reflect the global impact of Calvin's writings. The display is located in the Library's Lower Level. Don't miss the powerpoint show of images from Calvin's life and facsimilies of title pages from various printings of his books located in the Library's main lobby area.

Library of Christian Classics on CD-ROM in the Computer Lab -
Complete with all twenty-six volumes in the print Library of Christian Classics, including the two-volume Calvin: Institutes of the Christian Religion, the CD-ROM edition gives scholars immediate access and a new ability to search across volumes of these highly influential texts. Available in the computer lab on computer #8. More information about this collection.

Morgan Gets Even Better - Connect to Google books with Morgan the on-line catalog for the Ernest Miller White Library. Included in the full record display for items is a link (at the bottom of the display) for "About this book." It links to Google books and the information they've collected about that item.

The Jessie Allen White Reading Corner - Check out new additions to the library collection in the new seating area in the lobby of the Ernest Miller White Library. Named for a longtime supporter of the library who was married to former director, Ernest M. White, this space provides a comfortable place to peruse the newest materials in the collection.
Catholic Periodical Literature Index (CPLI) - On-line access to this resource that indexes citations to articles published in Roman Catholic periodicals, Papal documents, church promulgations, and books about the Catholic faith that are authored by Catholics and/or produced by Catholic publishers.

The Digital Karl Barth Library - Online access to the definitive edition of the works of Karl Barth (Gesamtausgabe, Theologischer Verlag Zürich), comprising more than 40 volumes of sermons, letters, lectures, and academic writings. The current digital release includes the first 36 volumes of the Gesamtausgabe and features Barth's magnum opus, the Church Dogmatics, both in German and English. Genogram-Maker tutorial - Trouble using the genogram software available in the computer lab? This web based tutorial was created to facilitate student's use of this resource.

My E-Shelf Replaces Bookbag - Saving records from Morgan, the on-line catalog previously used the bookbag. This option has been replaced by the new "My E-Shelf" link. My E-shelf functions as the Bookbag did, with advantages. If you logon to your account from Morgan, when you save items to "My E-Shelf" they will be saved permanently until you delete them.

Wireless in the Library -- If you have a laptop computer with a wireless receiver (standard now on most new laptops), you can now connect to the Internet wirelessly in the common areas of the Ernest Miller White Library. This includes the Reference Room, the Computer Lab, the lobby area, and the study areas on the Lower Level.
New Acquisitions - Want to see what the library has recently added to their collection? From the on-line catalog, Morgan, click the "New Items" link. This will display a list of items added to the library collection in the last four months.
Library Elf - No more overdue books? This web-based and email tool for library users helps you keep track of your library borrowings. Elf is like a personal assistant, whose task is to help with keeping track of what one has on loan from multiple libraries.
Calvini Opera - The complete works of John Calvin in the edition of the Corpus Reformatorum now available in the Library's comptuer lab on computers 1,3,6,9,12. Click here for more information about the database.

2006 - Wireless Access in the Winn Center
If you have a laptop computer with a wireless card, you can
now browse the Internet, check your email, and search the
library catalog or other research databases anywhere on the
main floor of that building (lounge, dining room, McAtee A
& B, etc.).
July 2006 - Upgrade to
Bibleworks 7.0
The library has upgraded the Bibleworks
software available in the computer lab from version 6.0 to
7.0 This software is still available on all computers in the
lab.
Training for using this new version of Bibleworks will be
offered in the near future. If you want to explore it on your
own - open the software using the icon on the desktop, and
go to the “Getting Started Videos” on the right
hand side of the interface.
July 2006 - TLG - Thesaurus
Linguae Graecae On-Line
Thesaurus Linguae Graecae is a research
center at the University of California, Irvine. Its goal is
to create a comprehensive digital library of Greek literature
from antiquity to the present era. Currently they have collected
and digitized texts dating from the time of Homer up to the
fall of Byzantium, AD 1453.
Access to this collection of Greek texts is available to
the LPTS community from the campus network. Search this database
by keyword, author name, canon author, date, or epithets.
