Multimedia/Audiovisual FAQ
Q. How do I request an overhead projector,
a slide projector, a TV/VCR, an audiocassette player, or a microphone?
A. Fill out an online Reservation of Facilities
form for the room. At the bottom of the form is a section for Multimedia
Requirements. Submit the form at least five working days before your event.
Q. What is the order of priority if two people
have requested the same AV equipment?
I. Faculty or administrators employing
the equipment for classroom usage or other seminary sponsored events,
on a first-come, first-served basis
II. Students for classroom usage.
III. Students and staff for seminary sponsored
events
IV. Faculty,
students and staff for extra curricular events or occasions not officially
sponsored by the seminary.

Q. Where can I use a wireless lapel microphone?
A. You can request a wireless lapel microphone
to use in the Chapel and the Winn Center. Nelson 118 and 119, Fellowship
Hall, and Hundley Hall have multimedia lecterns with lapel microphones
in the cabinets. These are to be operated by whoever is using the lectern,
and that person must have had multimedia lectern training, which the Library
offers regularly.
Q. Do I need to request a TV/VCR in the rooms
with multimedia setups (Nelson 10, 118, 119, Board Room; Gardencourt 205,
206, 209, 213, and Hundley Hall)?
A. No. All of the smaller classrooms (second
floor of GC, Nelson 10, and the Board Room) have monitors and DVD/VCRs
on carts which stay permanently in the rooms, and they can be used to
show PowerPoint presentations, Websites, videotapes, and DVDs. There are
instructions for use of the equipment hanging from the carts. Gardencourt
206 and Nelson 10 also have screens and digital projectors.
The larger rooms (Nelson 118 and 119, Fellowship
Hall, and Hundley Hall) have electronic screens and digital projectors,
and there is a DVD/VCR in the multimedia lectern cabinet in each room.

Q.
How do I request equipment for showing a PowerPoint presentation or a
website?
A. The four largest classrooms, Nelson 118
and 119, Fellowship Hall, and Hundley Hall, all have multimedia lecterns
that allow for connection to a digital projector and our network. When
you reserve the room, the equipment comes with it, and you don’t need
to request it on the reservation form. The smaller rooms, Gardencourt
205, 206, 209, 213, Nelson 10, and the Board Room all have permanent multimedia
setups that include a monitor with a DVD/VCR and a network connection.
These setups are on carts so they can be moved carefully within the room,
but are not to be moved outside the room. Gardencourt
206 and Nelson 10 also have screens and digital projectors.
Q. Can I get a tape player or a CD player
in buildings other than the Winn Center and the Chapel?
A. The multimedia lecterns in Nelson 118
and 119, Fellowship Hall, and Hundley Hall have a tape deck and a CD player.
These are to be operated by whoever is using the lectern, and that person
must have had multimedia lectern training, which the Library offers regularly.

Q. How do I request audiotaping or videotaping?
A. The same way you request a room or other
AV equipment: fill out the online Reservation of Facilities and submit
at least five working days before your event. It is also a good idea to
call the Audiovisual line, ext 290, or e-mail the Multimedia Assistant
at nhollabaugh@lpts.ed, since the sooner the Multimedia Assistant knows
of your request, the more likely it is that you will receive the services
you want. Taping is offered for major Seminary-sponsored events, however
any department that expects to sell copies of tapes of its event needs
to make its own arrangements for professional taping.
Q. Who moves the AV equipment I requested
to the room?
A. Multimedia Assistant, Norm Hollabaugh
(nhollabaugh@lpts.edu), ext 290.
Q. Who should I call if I have requested
taping by Seminary staff and nobody has set up for taping?
A. Call Norm Hollabaugh at ext 290.
