The
Louisville Grawemeyer Award in Religion, established by the
late H. Charles Grawemeyer, is awarded annually for the most
significant contributions to religious and spiritual understanding
in the previous eight years. Jointly with the University of
Louisville, Louisville Seminary awards the $200,000 prize
for insights into the relationship between humanity and the
Divine and the ways this relationship empowers people to attain
wholeness, integrity, or meaning. The Award is open to persons
of all religious and cultural world views and traditions.
