Many
Lamps, One Light
Stories that brought us to the present
This
seal, rendered in a mosaic of Italian glass in the narthex
in the Frank H. and Fannie W. Caldwell Chapel at Louisville
Seminary, was first used at the John J. Harbison Chapel at
the 109 E. Broadway campus. It’s motto, “Lampades
Multae Una Lux,” is Latin for “Many Lamps, One
Light.”
In
preparation for the 150th Anniversary Celebration, alumni/ae,
faculty, and friends submitted many stories and fond memories
of their connection to the Seminary. Collectively, their stories,
often humorous, often poignant, remind us of the endearing
and meaningful qualities of the faithful community that for
150 years has been “Louisville Presbyterian Theological
Seminary.”
